דיוויד בריינין
1905-1942
דוד בריינין נולד ב- 20-08-1905 ? בחארקוב שבאוקראינה (Ukraine) לחייט יהודי. בשנת 1919, בהיותו בן 14, היגר לפלסטינה, ולאחר חמש שנים עבר לפאריס. בריינין למד שם ציור וכוריאוגרפיה והתפרנס מריקוד. הוא הצטרף ללהקת מחול רוסית ונישא לאחת הרקדניות. כמו כן רקד באופרה הרוסית וב"קזינו של פאריס (Casino de Paris)" בשנת 1931 נסע עם רעייתו לסיבוב הופעות בדרום אמריקה- בארגנטינה, ברזיל ומקסיקו. מששב לפאריס החל ללמוד ב"בית הספר לאמנויות יפות" .(Ecole des Beaux-Arts) עם סיום לימודיו עבד בריינין בעיצוב תפאורות לסרטים. בתקופת מלחמת העולם השנייה נכלא במחנות קומפיין ודראנסי, אך המשיך ביצירתו האמנותית והנציח אירועים מחיי המחנות. האמן שולח למחנות המזרח ולא חזר. יצירותיו מתקופת המחנות נמצאות באוסף "בית לוחמי הגטאות".

This picture depicts a lecture by George Wellers. Wellers (1905, Russia - 1991, Paris) was a scientist holding a high post at the Faculty of Medicine in Paris. Wellers, who did not receive any Jewish education and was an atheist, was arrested and interned in Compiègne in December 1941 as one of the Jewish "Notables". From Compiègne, he was transferred to Drancy and later to Auschwitz and Buchenwald. In 1945 he returned to Paris, dedicating a great deal of his time to the research and documentation of the persecution of the Jews and the "Final Solution". Based on his own, and fellow inmates, experiences as well as documentary evidence, his research resulted in numerous books and articles.
