אברהם יוסף ברלין
1894-1942
אברהם יוסף ברלין נולד ב-5 באוקטובר 1894 בעיירה ניז'ין (Niejine) שבאוקראינה. בשנת 1912, בהיותו בן 18, היגר לפאריס במטרה ללמוד ב"בית הספר לאמנויות יפות" (Ecole des Beaux Arts) . בהעדר כל תמיכה כלכלית התפרנס כנהג מונית, וכל מקום שצד את עיניו הפך למוטיב בציורי הנוף שלו. ציוריו זכו להוקרה והוצגו בסלונים הפאריסאיים היוקרתיים כמו "סלון הסתיו" (Salon d'Automne) ו"סלון העצמאיים" (Salon des Independants) וכן בגלריות פרטיות.
במאי 1941 נעצר במבצע "הגלויה הירוקה" (Billet Vert). במחנה יצר מספר ציורי נוף ודיוקנאות. לאחר שבעה חודשים במחנה הועבר לדראנסי (Drancy), שולח מזרחה ולא חזר. יצירותיו מהמחנה נמצאות באוסף "בית לוחמי הגטאות" (The Ghetto Fighters House Museum) וב"מוזיאון לאמנות בת זמננו" (Musée d'Histoire Contemporaine) בפאריס.
